    ARDF Vision Trips: Rwanda

Join Bishop R. Quigg Lawrence of Church of the Holy Spirit, Roanoke, Virginia, and our own Lisa Puckett, and spend 8 days in Rwanda seeing God’s hand at work. We will have the unique opportunity to interact with Rwandans doing incredible ministry in a special context. We will also observe how collaborative ministry provides a “hand up” and not a dignity-robbing “handout” in a sustainable, kingdom-building way

    Trip Highlights

Kigali: Visit the proposed building site for Walk with Rwanda's commercial building and meet John Craig, CEO of RACI.  Visit the STAR School of 700 students, see an income-generating fish farm, and learn how collaboration has brought about this school for mainly lower income kids. These kids are now scoring well on the National Exam, learning English fluently and are being discipled by the local church. We will hand out quality Bibles at the STAR school and visit the Genocide Museum.

Gasabo: We will spend time visiting the Hope on a 1000 Hills ministry, including the Kagondo Slum ministry, a rural church and school buildings. We will distribute Bibles to students.

Nkombo: Nkombo Island is in southwestern Rwanda on Lake Kivu bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo. We will visit this Island, which was formerly rampant with prostitution, unemployment, severely malnourished children, and a lack of education. In 3.5 years, starting with the local bishop’s vision and with

collaboration between the local diocese and three North American churches, several feeding programs, churches, schools, and Compassion International projects have been implemented with great success.

Musanze: We have the option to see the Silverback Mountain gorillas for an extra fee. Others can visit Dr. Caleb King’s hydro-electric power dams. Everyone will take in the amazing views of volcanos and tall mountains. We will have dinner at the exclusive Virunga Lodge.

Cost: $3,000 per person including airfare on Qatar Airways from JFK, lodging (double occupancy),

meals and transportation on the ground.

    Application Deadline: November 15, 2017

The Nyungwe Forest Church: We will travel through this most remote and untouched land of tall trees, lush vegetation, and chimpanzees in the southeastern region Rwanda. We will share Sunday worship with a thriving, healthy church on the border of Burundi. This church is seeing explosive growth and has been planting new churches every year.

Tea Plantation in the Nyungwe Forest: We will enjoy dinner at a stunning 5-star lodge in Rwanda. A team favorite, this setting is unsurpassed for beauty and excellent food.
